📖Biography
Born Saul of Tarsus, a Pharisee and Roman citizen, he zealously persecuted the early Christians until his dramatic encounter with the risen Christ on the road to Damascus. Blinded by the vision, he was healed by Ananias and baptized. He became Paul, the Apostle to the Gentiles, undertaking three great missionary journeys across the Roman Empire. He founded churches throughout Asia Minor, Greece, and beyond, writing epistles that form 13 books of the New Testament. His theology of grace, justification by faith, and the Body of Christ shaped Christian doctrine forever. He endured shipwrecks, imprisonments, beatings, and finally martyrdom in Rome, where he was beheaded under Nero.

O glorious St. Paul, who from a persecutor of Christianity became a most ardent Apostle of zeal, and who to make known the Savior Jesus Christ to the uttermost parts of the earth didst joyfully suffer prison, scourging, stoning, shipwreck, and all manner of persecution, and in the end shed thy blood to the last drop, obtain for us the grace to accept the infirmities, sufferings, and misfortunes of this life as favors of the Divine Mercy. Amen.
